Derek DeRoche

Derek DeRoche is a Bay Area photographer. His work, consisting chiefly of urban photography in San Francisco, Oakland, and other parts of the Bay, explores both isolated details and compacted layers of the landscape. He uses minimalist framing, disorienting telephoto, and rich colors to uncover the strange and dreamlike aspects of the Northern California urban environment. Derek is also a filmmaker and musician. He has released a feature film, Chauffeur, as well as music with his band, Dustern.
