Fashion – Boston

I have been sewing since I was 4 years old. By age 11 I was intrigued with evening gowns and finer sewing skills. I began by purchasing patterns and changing them to be what I wanted. I eventually taught myself how to make my own patterns from measurements by reading books and a lot of practice. I attempted to attend fashion schools, starting with the AI of Seattle, but left after I realized I had learned most of their subjects already. I briefly attended the New York Fashion Academy in Ballard, WA, which focused specifically on what it was you wanted to learn but unfortunately had to leave six months into my 15 month program due to finances. Since then I have put every hour, every dollar and every extra thought into how I can better myself and build a solid business. Any chance I get to learn new things, whether through speaking with industry professionals or buying books, or trial and error, I take it. I currently focus on custom made one of a kind pieces (primarily women\'s evening wear), but am working on venturing into production and even menswear.
