Myissher Wilson

Visual Art – Phoenix

After her first major creation (her son) became of age and left the nest; an exercise of self-discovery led Myissher to undertake an adventure she identifies as her “calling”, and led to what she describes now as her life’s mission. In 2015, inspired by the thought that she could turn a “tree stump” sitting on the kitchen floor in her Phoenix, Arizona home into something beautiful changed her life forever. Once she saw the magical transformation of something most would have normally thrown away or burned, Myissher knew her destiny was to become an Artist. The inspiration to paint came from her mother whom herself was a self-taught Artist but had hoarded and suppressed her talent for many years. Myissher was determined to break that cycle. Myissher taught herself to paint works of art and knew right away she could teach others to do the same. Since beginning her work she has taught over 1,000 people to express their talents in classes and home parties. Myissher has also been surprised by the therapeutic nature of painting as expressed by her students. She has been approached by many after sessions and told just how much better “painting” made them feel. Her mother too is now painting again and sharing her gift with the world. She says she was born to create life on a canvas and has several hundred of commissioned works of her own in circulation; among her accomplishments are murals on buildings in Los Angeles, California and Phoenix, Arizona and two successful self curated shows. However, her real passion is helping others discover themselves by creating their works of art. Myissher shares her gift with the world by helping others discover the Artist within themselves. Her favorite quote says it all: “Art speaks what words are unable to explain”. She is currently living and creating wherever the paint brush paints her.
