Visual Art – Gold Coast

Lachlan Putzolu is a visual artist Currently living in Brisbane and working on his Bachelor of Fine Arts Majoring in Visual Art at Queensland University of Technology. working with Photography, Performance, Sculpture, Makeup, Costuming (Wearable Art, Cosplay, Fashion) and Digital Media with a desire to explore and express the thoughts, trials and tribulations centred around the LGBTQ+ community. Taking inspiration from personal themes and social problems in society such as abuse, stereotypes, and sexualisation just to name a few. touching on the many social issues surrounding the current themes of consumerism and environmental problems currently plaguing society. Utilising humour, irony, confronting imagery and symbolism to showcase to the public the many topics and viewpoints that have been challenging to mainstream media. Most of his art is self-directed, however he does extensively collaborate with other photographers and models for self-portraiture and other photographical work. Overall having goals to expand his skills and techniques to hopefully bring something new to the contemporary art scene and help broaden the styles of LGBTQ+ art within the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Australia
