Visual Art – San Francisco

Having grown up in a small town in the foothills of Northern California, I ran off to Los Angeles after High School and got a BFA in Fine Art/Graphic Design. I landed great jobs in the design industry that suited my style and allowed me to push my creativity to a large audience in LA. Stereoscopic artwork was around me ever since I was a kid. Even though I didn't know it at the time, I was learning from these pictures and they formed my creative thinking at a young age. Viewmasters painted scenes of distant places in the world that I didn't know existed. I was able to experience a different slice of life and create my own stories about what would happen next. Vintage stereoviews cards from the 1800's taught me the power of a 3D through its historical context and ability to augment reality. I wanted to focus on the fine art of 3D and not get caught up in Hollywood's butchering of a classic artform. My inspiration to create this first series entitled "Music Apocalypse" came to me as I would look up at skyscrapers and dilapidated cityscapes and daydream about what it would look like if aliens came down and took over. The aliens became vinyl records and the city painted the backdrop for the invasion. It speaks to the power of vintage media, the discarding to digital and how it would be if the records could fight back. I also shoot 3D concert photography and have been fortunate to shoot some of the biggest bands in the world in stereo unlike anyone else. Blending my affinity for music and art is what leads to my most inspired and successful designs.
