Beth Barker @ Splash Arts Melbourne

Visual Art – Victoria

Beth Barker is from Splash Arts Studio Melbourne and is an abstract expressionist painter, often found covered from head to toe in paint. Beth's works are left to chance, diary entries in paint splashed on top of yesterday’s mess, incorporating mixed media and found objects to create odd textures and interesting effects. Beth's works embody the physical expression of inner turmoil and confusion caused by Borderline Personality Disorder - "my mind is chaotic and my paintings are a visual representation of that." Through pent up anger, resentment, embarrassment, self-hatred, flashbacks, tears, unreliability, sadness, confusion, frustration and low energy, BPD is paralysing but it creates some beautiful art with which I can channel manic and depressive energy into. A free and intuitive mess, Beth enjoys exploring paint with fun and curiosity.
